My
passion for painting began when I was three years old and hasn't
wavered since. Whether it was pouring over books and copying
the work of the masters like Michelangelo, Velasquez, Degas,
or traveling through the museums of Europe, or even imitating
the art of DC Comics, I found my inspiration everywhere. And
though I've tackled many styles and subject matter, portrait
painting was my true vocation. The figure in painting is simply
the most beautiful and inspirational for me.
I traveled to Italy twice to learn in residency workshops before
finishing college. After graduating from the University of the
Arts I moved to New York City and studied at the Art Student's
League under the guidance of Harvey Dinnerstein. I also had
a long-term career in the field of advertising art and illustrationall
the while exhibiting in numerous galleries throughout the US.
Since 2000 I turned my attention once more to the art of
portrait painting. My paintings now hang in many private homes.
The art of portraiture is one of the most challenging in all
the arts and I take great pleasure in knowing that each client
will treasure their paintings as heirlooms for many generations
to come.
